A Musical Futures UK pilot school are featuring in the NUMU Young Champions spotlight. From Llanelli in Wales, Bryngwyn School’s NUMU label features students’ interpretations of tracks such as Joni Mitchell’s ‘Both Sides Now’ and Billy Joel’s ‘She’s Always a Woman’.

Check out Bryngwyn’s Dynamix label where you can also listen to the schools’ entries to the Royal Opera House Fanfare competition which includes a dubstep entry!

Bryngwyn School are taking part in the Musical Futures Young Champions programme: a collaboration between Musical Futures and NUMU which sees young people mentoring each other online and learning valuable skills in the process.

Young Champions are supported by NUMU to complete fortnightly mentoring tasks - such as providing constructive criticism on other students' music and suggesting musical advice as well as blogging regularly about their musical and mentoring activities.

If you are using Musical Futures in your school and would like students in your school to receive informal mentoring from one of our young champions, sign your school and students up to NUMU now (it's free and very simple to use!).

Make sure that you identify your school as following Musical Futures, and start getting your students to upload their work.

You can read more about the Young Champions programme here: http://www.musicalfutures.org.uk/youngchampions or for more information, please contact Joe Weiler, NUMU, tel. 0113 246 9989, email joe.weiler@radiowaves.co.uk.

The next NUMU spotlight falls on Perth Academy from Scotland on the 23rd January.
