INTRODUCING MUSICAL FUTURES ONLINE for SECONDARY TEACHERS
We are inviting all secondary/high school teachers of music to join us for a tour of Musical Futures Online our award-winning online resources platform.
Musical Futures Online has been designed to support teachers to deliver music in an engaging, practical and enjoyable way incorporating the values and ethos of the Musical Futures approach and offers teachers step by step guidance to teaching music through an exciting interactive resource aimed at students aged 11-16
Overview
The session is designed for all teachers of secondary/high school music teachers – we’ll show you how how to use these practical, hands-on resources and how you can get your students playing.
Discover an approach which enables students to develop basic musical skills and knowledge whilst developing ensemble musicianship skills and confidence through an engaging curriculum.
Musical Futures Online offers a selection of content which will allow secondary teachers to tailor the approach depending on the resources available within your school.
We’ll look at examples of our interactive resources for warm up exercises, rhythm and clapping games, chair drumming and playing instruments as a whole class.
We’ll also take a look at our JustPlay teaching resources which support the development of musical knowledge and rhythmic awareness alongside instrumental skill development on drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and ukulele and the accompanying playalong repertoire – all designed to provide a vibrant and authentic curriculum approach that engages students in whole class music making.
The use of backing tracks and music that students like, enjoy and identify with throughout the resource ensures a high level of engagement whilst scaffolding learning. Opportunities for differentiation within the resource mean that it can be adapted to cater for students of all abilities.
This session will take place via Zoom and all places must be booked in advance – please do not book a space unless you are able to attend.
Details for joining the session will be sent in advance of the session.
