MLR 2016 *FLASH SALE* + new content

It’s the new school term which means lots of different things for different people, but for us at Musical Futures it’s the countdown to MLR 2016 which is now just over 6 weeks away on Tuesday 18th October at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. This week we are announcing details of our Open Space Sessions and revealing details of our new strand of Clinics.

Open Space Sessions
The idea behind Open Space sessions is to provide a platform share effective and innovative practice from schools and organisations across the UK and beyond. At this year’s MLR we’re delighted to present three sessions, chosen from more than 30 applications from teachers, practitioners and organisations across the UK:
*Using Google Classroom in assessment with teacher Amy Coombe, Head of Music at Clapton Girls Academy
*Accreditation and assessment in SEN settings with Jocelyn Watkins of Treloar School and Jonathan Westrup from Drake Music
*A practical session on engaging mixed ability groups in music making and giving your students a stake in the process from the outset with Andy Smith, members of Manchester Camerata and Orchestras Live.

Clinics 
At a recent team meeting we brainstormed this idea of drop-in sessions with a team of experts on the new exam spec and assessment. We’re delighted to present MLR Clinics. Subject Officers from EdExcel, OCR and Eduqas will each run a Clinic on their new exam specification.
