Musical Futures win at Music & Drama Education Awards

We’re delighted and honoured to have been selected from a strong field of shortlisted candidates as the winner of this category at this week’s Music & Drama Education Awards.

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us on our journey from the action research project funded by The Paul Hamlyn Foundation to where we are today.

Our special thanks must go to Professor Lucy Green for all her support with our recent endeavours as Musical Futures continues to progress and develop. Her pioneering work on informal music learning is where it all began.

Professor Green said:

“I am so proud to be associated with Musical Futures. When I first devised the basis of the pedagogy, and tried it out in a few schools, it was my wish that the teachers involved might perhaps adapt it and take it their own ways. What Musical Futures has done over 20 years, in their creative adaptation, expansion, and advancement of the approaches is beyond my wildest dreams. I congratulate them on this magnificent accolade of their untiring dedication to music education, and I wish them the very best for their continued growth and success.”
