What do you do?
I am a Community Musician, a Peri bass, guitar and Ableton/production teacher and I lead ensembles and out of school music clubs. I play bass, mainly through an industrial grade pedalboard, and use Ableton for live performance, both in a band and solo/duo setting.
What is your background?
Having played music for many years I started working as a Community Musician in 2005 and began working for a Music Service in 2007. I first worked with the Musical Futures Band Skills model in about 2009. I lead ensembles and a Music Centre as well as teach and I was part of the initial Ableton K-12 Push Initiative. We have been gradually integrating Ableton into the Music Curriculum at LRGS for approximately 2 years.
What are you most looking forward to working with Musical Futures on this programme?
Meeting up with, sharing with and being inspired by the other schools and teachers on the program. The specialist help from the Ableton Certified Trainers. Being part of an important new initiative and being able to focus in an area I feel particularly passionate about.
