How long have you been working with Musical Futures?

I’ve been teaching using a Musical Futures approach for 10 years.

What do you do?

I’m a secondary school music teacher. I recently moved from a Musical Futures Champion School in Liverpool to SAFA community school in Dubai.

What is your background?

I am a percussionist, music producer and DJ. I also play guitar as my father was a blues guitarist. From the age of 9 I was gigging all over the UK with him. These experiences inspired me to become the best musician I could. I have a (BA hons) in Jazz Studies from Leeds College of Music and a PGCE in music.

Five Words that sum up Musical Futures

Practical, Accessible, Creative, Engaging, Committed.

What music are you listening to at the moment?

I listen to all kinds of music and think it is important to have an open mind. However, I love electronic music, especially; Crazy P, Kraak and Smaak, Todd Terje to name a few. If you have not heard of them go and check them out and broaden your understanding.
