How long have you been working with Musical Futures?
I’ve used Musical Futures for the last 9 years.

What do you do?
I am Learning Leader for Music in a large comprehensive school in the south east.

What is your background?
My background as far as training was as a composer with a strong interest in contemporary classical music styles.  I have been teaching for 28 years in a variety of settings including schools with considerable challenge.  I’ve also held posts across various areas of whole school including faculty and exams leadership.  My playing experience has crossed many areas and I’m comfortable dabbling with a wide range of instruments which helps considerably with the practical modelling within Musical Futures.

Five words that sum up Musical Futures?
Innovative, Engaging, Liberating, Real, Personalised

What music are you listening to at the moment?
Late Beethoven string quartets, the Bad Plus ‘Flim’, Danish String Quartet playing ‘Wood Works’, Joni Mitchell ‘Both sides now’ – bit of a butterfly with listening – always return to Glenn Gould playing Goldberg variations.  This would be my desert island disc.
